Officiant J led the way
Mr Elk and his parents were next in line: Followed by Grandma and Grandpa Elk (aren't they adorable?):
SIL E carried our little niece, who definitely got the most "awwws" from the crowd (and with that face, its no wonder!):
Our bridal party was next. Since we had an uneven party, I had a few people walk in groups of 3s instead of 2s. Here's bridesmaid K, groomsman G, and bridesmaid C Bridesmaid M and Groomsman B Bridesmaid J and Groomsman K (who flew in all the way from Japan for the wedding!) Bridesmaid D, Groomsman C (aka brother elk), and bridesmaid A MOH L and best man L
And with that, it was my turn! The music changed, and we got the nod that said it was time to walk.
I wore that goofy grin our entire walk down the aisle. I was just so excited and happy, and I even surprised myself by not really feeling nervous at all! And it was easy to feel serene with Mr Elk returning my smile the whole way down the aisle;
My walk felt both miles long and shorter than a few steps all at the same time. I'm so glad I chose to uphold the Jewish tradition of the bride walking with both parents. As much of a daddy's girl as I am, Mama Elk is my best friend and both of my parents have had a major impact on my life. I couldn't imagine only walking with one and not the other, especially because I know how lucky I am to still have both my parents not only alive but happily married. Before I knew it, I was standing next to Mr Elk, about to marry my best friend!
