Deerly Beloved: My Last Day As A Misses

On the day before the wedding, there were a few last minute things that had to get accomplished.  Most importantly, we had to bring our furbaby (as well as my parents' pooches) to the vet for boarding.  As someone who desperately wanted all 3 of my dogs (I still consider my parents' dogs mine) to be a part of the wedding, this was a pretty sad moment.

It's like Moe knows he is about to miss out on an awesome time and is refusing to cooperate!  And when we got to the vet, one of the techs helping us said "why aren't they in the wedding?!".  See Mr Elk, Mama Elk, and Papa Elk- at least someone agreed with me that they belonged there!!!

Anyway, after I got over my sadness (sort of), it was time to prepare for our rehearsal dinner.  Now I should probably mention that we didn't actually rehearse at any point during our rehearsal dinner, so I'm not quite sure why I am still calling it a rehearsal dinner, but anyhoo.  My parents graciously offered to host a night before the wedding sort of out of town dinner at their house (because 60 people at a restaurant seemed like a bit of a stretch).   They had a tent put up over their deck, and ordered in A TON of Italian food.  Apparently it was delicious, but I didn't actually eat anything...

I don't have a lot of pics from the rehearsal dinner, but here are me and my maids (minus brideslady A who hadn't arrived in state yet):

It was a really nice evening, that culminated in awesomeness. You see, my entire life I have been obsessed with rainbow cookies. Not quite sure what I am talking about?  YOU NEED TO GO TO YOUR NEAREST BAKERY AND FIND THESE COOKIES! THEY ARE AMAZING:

Rainbow cookies are pretty much my all time favorite dessert, and Mr Elk also loves them!  For as long as I can remember I have said that I was going to have a rainbow cookie wedding cake!  Of course, reality didn't allow this to happen, but Grandma Elk had a surprise for me at our night before semi rehearsal dinner!

As the desserts were being plated, I noticed a usual assortment of cookies from a particular bakery that grandma elk frequents (that makes the most delicious rainbow cookies ever), but clearly missing were my beloved rainbow cookies.  I looked at her and said "what, no rainbow cookies?!" to which she replied "look at the cake".  And that is the moment that I realized not only that I have the most awesome grandma ever, but that she had gotten me a CAKE made ENTIRELY of RAINBOW COOKIES!!!!

Mr Elk and I decided to practice our cake cutting skillz on the epic cake:

(PS I started the night with gorgeous hair that was blown out and beautiful, but I was running around and got hot, so I threw it up into this disgusting pony tail :( whoops)

and here I am letting him stuff it into my mouth. Seriously, that shit is like gold...delicious, mouthwatering gold. Photobucket Even though I didn't actually eat any real dinner, I STUFFED MY FACE with rainbow cookie cake (as did our guests- that cake was demolished!). Seriously, I felt a little sick afterwards. But it was the perfect end to an awesome evening. We headed to he hotel, crawled into bed and tried to sleep!
